Through our taxable, for-profit AgReserves subsidiary, we operate row crops farms, ranches, and tree crops orchards in North America, South America, Europe, and Australia.

Farmland Reserve leases land to local farmers, primarily in the United States. In selected locations, we also lease land for solar and wind renewable energy.

Doug Rose

President, CEO

Doug was named President and CEO of Farmland Reserve in 2021. He also serves as President and CEO of Farmland’s operating subsidiary, AgReserves. Since joining the company in 2016, he has had leadership experience in tree crops, human resources, and land management.

Doug was previously in-house legal counsel for UT-Battelle, prime contractor for operation of Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He has a law degree from the University of Tennessee and earned his bachelor’s degree from Weber State University.

Brent Garlick

Vice President, Finance | CFO

Brent has been CFO and VP of Finance since 2013 and worked as Farmland’s Corporate Controller for 11 years before assuming his current role. His experience prior to Farmland Reserve included audit manager for Deseret Management Corporation and controller for Bingham Engineering.

Brent earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the University of Utah and an MBA from Colorado State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds additional certifications in project management and information technology.

Scott Baird

Vice President, Land Management

Scott has worked as Vice President of Land Management since 2021. Before joining Farmland, Scott was Executive Director of the Utah Department of Environmental Quality and held similar managerial roles in state agencies in Utah and Washington.

Scott earned his J.D. degree at Syracuse University, a master’s in Public Administration from the Maxwell School, and a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University.

Wes Quinton

Senior Investment Advisor

Wes was named Senior Investment Advisor for Farmland Reserve in July 2023, building on his many years of land management, acquisitions, government affairs, and legal experience. Early in his career, Wes worked at AgReserves’ flagship ranching operation, Deseret Cattle and Citrus, before going back to school to get a law degree.

Wes earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Brigham Young University and his law degree from Duke University.

Rex Burgener

Senior Director of Transactions

Rex has served as Senior Director of Transactions since July 2023. Joining Farmland in 2007, he has successfully directed and managed acquisitions and dispositions, building on a distinguished 40-year career in agricultural land investment.

Prior to Farmland, Rex was a real estate broker and bank loan officer. Early in his career, Rex held several positions with the Farm Credit System.

Rex earned his bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Brigham Young University.
